MODX Evolution… It Lives!

MODX Revolution has been out for the better part of a year, so one might expect the previous version, aka Evolution, to wither on the vine. One might might be in for a mild shock because support for Evolution remains vital and strong.
Not convinced? I’ll make my case…
Finally, during the middle of the cold, bleak winter, and update is released. Evo 1.0.5 contains numerous essential security updates and manager enhancements, as well as updates to core add-ons. Everything Evo is brought up-to-date with this release.

The most telling sign of life for Evo is the list of community members at the bottom of this post. A casual browse through the forums will find these individuals giving support and advice on a broad range of topics, MODX.
So for those of you who, like me, have a number of live Evo sites who still need shepherding, or for others looking to try a great CMS for the first time Evo is alive, vital and sticking around.
Who else is curious about what’s in store for Evolution 1.1?

    I also still support Evolution for my clients… although the moment they need anything custom developed, I try to get them to use Revolution – it’s just so much easier to customize once you get through the initial learning curve.

    But yes – it’s good Evolution is still supported, and it should be. There’s thousands of sites out there running Evolution, and this can be considered quite a vital release to the branche. ;)
